Absolutely loved this place! The food was great. My kid loved it! And so did I. Honestly, reasonable prices, good quality and friendly service. I’ve been coming here for a long time and the food really does remind me of Italy! We had the calzone, gorgonzola pizza, chips, lasagna and diavola. Don’t hesitate to try it out! Nothing better than a beer and pizza!

A solid choice for pizza and Italian eats in Balmain. Thin crisp crusts, well-balanced toppings, and good fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — good for casual dinners, pizza nights with friends or families. The menu has variety: pizzas, pastas, desserts; and the location (Darling St, Balmain) is convenient. The space can get busy and a little noisy, which may affect a “quiet dinner” vibe. Because the focus is on pizza and hearty Italian fare, you may find the price a touch higher than your standard takeaway or budget pizzeria in the area — though you’re getting value for the quality. It may not be ultra-fancy or gourmet fine dining, but it delivers what many diners are looking for: authentic flavours, good atmosphere and a solid reputation. TIPS Book ahead, especially on weekends, to avoid long waits. Save space for dessert if you have a sweet tooth. If you prefer quieter dining, aim for an earlier sitting or a weekday evening.

I visited here yesterday with my Italian friend. The ambience was nice and staffs were kind. The dishes were hit the spot. It’s my first time to try arancini, the taste seemed to yummy fried rice ball. Also pizzas which was main menu were so good. It looked brick oven pizzas and the dough was soft-chewy. I loved it. After we finished our meal, I took leftover. It was priceless time to eat out with my loved mate :)

Rosso Pomodoro truly impressed us! The pizzas were not only delicious and crispy, but the service was also exceptional. Our dinner with a group turned out to be an excellent decision, as the restaurant easily accommodated all of us. The pizzas were flawlessly cooked, boasting a no-frills, down-to-earth woodfire flavor. The appetizers provided a great variety to choose from, and we concluded our meal with indulgent pistachio tiramisu and calzone, perfect comfort food for a chilly winter evening. We even sampled each dessert item, and every dish was a delectable delight. As a pistachio enthusiast, I adored the pistachio tiramisu, though the calzone, while sweet and satisfying for those with a sweet tooth, felt a bit heavy. The pizzas truly stole the show with their thin, crispy crust that avoided any sogginess. With a plethora of authentic Italian options, Rosso Pomodoro left us spoiled for choice, and we appreciated the absence of unconventional toppings like ham and pineapple.

I’ve been coming here since around 2006 when they were in their previous location in Balmain (which I thought was nicer). The pizzas are very good- one of the best in Sydney. However, I find they can be a bit hit & miss. Always good, but sometimes are better than others. The Saracena & Vegetarian are really good. Good vibe- but VERY NOISY!

Have not been back to the restaurant since they moved to Darling St. Went today and pizza was still as good. Thin crust which makes it easy to eat as the size of the pizzas were quite big.
